Japan Adventure Part 3 :: Monday, January 23, 2012
Omiya is like the Shinjuku of the boonies of Saitama. Instead of going all the way into Shinjuku/Shibuya area to shop, everyone in the 田舎(countryside) come to Omiya. It has just about every store you could want!
Because they usually have some great sales during New Years, we headed out there.
Outfit. New dress and shoes! and I'm wearing the cardigan from the egoist fukubukuro. Honestly, I didn't bring many outfits with me to wear because I wanted my suitcase to be empty! That way, I could buy buy buy! and manage to bring it all home, so I wore everything that I bought right away!
Drink I bought. Sakura and Rosemary... AWFUL! it tasted like cough syrup and I could barely drink it. It sat in my purse most of the day... and then was thrown away. ICK!
On the way... fashionable legs! I actually have a lot of pictures of legs, but I'm probably the only one who thinks they're interesting, so just these few!
Lunch. Kinoko and vegetable salsa pizza from Saizeria!
Saitama City Space Theater.
Shopping! This shopping center has just about every store I like in it.
On the train home, Nichole called us and asked when we wanted to go out to the club. We decided we'd go that night! SO, we headed out to Koshigaya Laketown, shopped around there a bit, then quick Ooshou dinner and off to the apartment to change!
Buta-kimuchi (pork kimchi) gyoza, and rice.
My club outfit. I yanked my bangs back because Japanese clubs are OUTRAGEOUSLY hot and dank. (and smokey and death traps... but that's ok).
New dress from d.i.a. I saw this while I was shopping around in Omiya and NEEDED to have it. It's just gorgeous. Of course, here in the USA, I wont be wearing it as a dress, but it's still adorable as a shirt, too!
New shoes as well. They are really cute, but I found out later that they KILL my ankles. By the end of the night, I could barely stand! Sadness.
We went to club ATOM in Shibuya. This is actually my first time there, since we usually would go to club Camelot, which is on the other side of Shibuya. But, Nichole likes ATOM best, so that's where we went.
Japanese clubs are a lot like American ones... but with more attractive boys, more people, a lot more smoke, and no liquor license that says you have to leave at 2am. Mostly because once you get there, unless you only stay for 2 hours and miss all the crowd, you're stuck there after midnight. The trains stop running around midnight, and then don't start back up until around 5:30am.
ATOM has 6 floors... but usually only 3 open at a time. We stayed on the house floor because that's where the music was best.
SO, we got there around 11:30pm... and left a little early around 4am to go to Karaoke. So, 4.5 hours of dancing and loud music. I was POOPED!
Day 8: SLEEPING! and then Shinjuku take 2
Since we didn't get home until about 7am, we spent most of this day sleeping it off. We didn't get up until around 4pm, then sat around doing mostly nothing until around 5:30pm when Dawn and Evil had to leave for their hair appointment. I wasn't getting my hair cut, so I just sat around until after 6:30pm before I decided it would be good to head out there so we weren't late meeting our friend Michiko out in Shinjuku for Shabu Shabu. It was already dark when I left the apartment! LOL!
Outfit
Shinjuku at night! I took more pictures of Shinjuku than anything else. I just love it with all it's lights and hustle and bustle.
The Shabu Shabu place we always go to (Momo Paradise) is back in the middle of 歌舞伎町 (kabukicho) which is also one of my favorite places in Japan. It's just so lively back there at night... and you get to see the most interesting people... like hosts and kyabajyo... and hige-gyaru/Okamas. Very entertaining.
After dinner, we took some Purikura. Funny that the day all of us were like eh... about what we were wearing and the likes, we took purikura!
Day 9: Ikebukuro Sunshine City and NoGod live
We had a NoGOD live this night in Shibuya... but none of us really wanted to hang out in Shibuya again, so we headed to Sunshine city in Ikebukuro.
We ate at El Tordeo (a Mexican restaurant) then headed up to the observation deck in Sunshine city.
Outfit. Wearing the dress from the egoist fukubukuro. And, yes, Dawn's bedroom does get more and more messy as the pictures go on. She likes to try on multiple outfits, then throw the rejects into a pile near her closet xP
And, yup, that is that super cute Ma*rs coat! I liked it when I saw it on the 109 website, but was sure it would NEVER fit... but, even though it is TINY, I tired it on in 109 and IT FITS! You better believe I was ecstatic and bought it immediately.
Anyway, You can see so many things from the observation deck!!

Sky Tree. This is what is going to replace Tokyo Tower as the television antena once it's finished. They are talking about tearing Tokyo Tower down once this is finished, too. NOOOOOO!

AND, after the live... and being pervertedly filmed by school boys at a McDonalds (that's right...) we stopped in at our local grocery store. xD

Japan Adventure Part 2 :: Saturday, January 21, 2012
December 31st, and there are tons of things to do! There are so many different count down to the New Years events that you can go to! We decided to go to a v-kei countdown live. It's tradition! Every year in Japan, we went to a countdown live! SO... even though there were only 3 bands there that we cared about, we picked a v-kei live.
Because we thought the live was going to be in Harajuku (LaForet live space), we headed there to shop for the day.
Outfit! I bought the shirt while we were shopping in 109. The staff girl was wearing it like this (with a pair of shorts under) and I really liked it, so I gave it a try.

Countdown live! 3 bands we were interested in R指定、愛狂います、摩天楼オペラ (R-shitei, aicle, matenrou opera) Had great spots for each, got into the furi and had TONS of fun! R指定 played our 2 favorite songs by them. So, that rocked my socks!
Day 5: New Years Sales!
Since we got home really late after the countdown, we slept in and didn't actually end up out at the sales until AFTER the rush... which was fine. No more of the days of getting up at 5am (or just staying up) and going in to Ikebukuro Parco to stand in line for the fukubukuro run!
Even though we didn't get there until after 10am, there were still tons of fukubukuros left this year. Nowhere had run out... which is like, unusual. They must be making a lot more now than they used to.
I only ended up buying one fukubukuro this day.
Super casual for the day. and New items. Bought the shorts the day before in LaForet in a store called 'Heathers' I was surprised... because never did I think I would fit into Japanese shorts!! The rest I got in 109... here and there.
Waiting for the bus...and riding it to the station :)
And, how to get something out of a Japanese vending machine.
1. look for change
2. Realize you have no change and plug in a 1000 yen bill instead.
3. Make your selection. (Hot coffee, YUM!)
4. Collect your purchase.
5. Sadly collect your change in 100, 50, and 10 yen coins... DANG!
Stores and lunch at 天丼てんや. (Tendon tenya)
Egoist fukubukuro. This fukubukuro was AMAZING! It came with 2 dresses, a coat, a shirt, a sweater, and a cardigan plus the bag. The items were all AWESOME! But, I still traded one of the dresses, the shirt, and the coat for my friends Cecil McBee fukubukuro coat and dress (cause I liked them a little better).
Sweater, cardigan, dress, and Cecil coat. Everything was black and in a great basic kind of way. So, you can pretty much use them with everything! The dress is particularly great! It really doesn't look like much, but it looks really great on. It was twice the coat the Egoist one was. SO WARM! So I didn't mind trading the other dress and coat for the Cecil one.
After dropping off our buys, we headed off to our local Family Restaurant. Royal Host.
Day 6: Shinjuku Round 1
I LOVE Shinjuku! It is my 2nd home in Japan. I've spent more time there than I have in any of the other places. They have shopping, food, entertainment!!
We made a stop here to visit our favorite kaiten-zushi place, shopping, and to stop in at Like an Edison (v-kei cd and goods store). SO, just picture spam from here.
(I'm getting tired!)
Last picture is of HOSTS! and the Crazy Lady Gaga flute playing homeless guy... He was following us around saying "Lady Gaga好きですか？" (Do you like Lady Gaga?) and then proceeding to play Bad Romance on his flute.
AHHH, ok. So More will come late. I'm thinking I'll be able to wrap the rest up in 2 posts!
